OUR WEDDING · A GIFT THAT GIVES BACK
Big White Respite Camp
for Adults on the Spectrum
A CAUSE CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS
Your presence at our wedding is our greatest gift.
Rather than traditional wedding presents, we invite you to support the vision for the Big White Respite Camp. We hope to turn the joy of our wedding into something lasting for autistic adults and the people who care for them.
The proposed camp is designed to welcome autistic adults to Big White for a supported, seven-day overnight mountain experience. Campers would enjoy opportunities for activities, friendship, independence, and quiet time—at their own pace and with meaningful choices.
At the same time, parents, siblings, and caregivers would have a full week to rest and recharge, knowing their loved ones are supported by trained staff.
Visual schedules, advance introductions, sensory-friendly spaces, and the freedom to take a break.
Age-appropriate experiences, genuine choices, and the option to join in—or opt out.
Individualized staffing plans, safety procedures, and trained support are central to the proposed program.
THE VISION FOR SUMMER 2027
The project plan proposes two seven-day overnight sessions in summer 2027. The team is working toward confirming licensing requirements, a hosting agreement, funding, staffing, and registration before the camp can open. These plans are in development, and dates and places are not yet confirmed.
